A Node.js and TypeScript starting point for creating MCP servers with validated tools, resources, prompts, calculator behavior, and widget-compatible workflows.
NitroStack Starter Template provides a Node.js and TypeScript base for developing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Its included calculator example shows how MCP tools, resources, and prompts can be arranged in a working project, making it useful for learning and testing server capabilities.
The project also brings together Zod schema validation, a widget-ready layout, and npm-centered development scripts. It is designed for developers who need a structured starting point with reusable commands and NitroStudio compatibility for development and debugging.
- A calculator example built around MCP tools, resources, and prompts - TypeScript project organization - Zod schemas for validating structured inputs - A layout prepared for widget-related extensions - npm commands supporting development and production workflows - NitroStudio integration for development and debugging - A practical base for introducing additional MCP functionality - A suitable foundation for Node.js server projects
Install the project's dependencies from its root directory:
Launch the configured development command with:
If the project uses another script name, check package.json for the complete list of available npm commands. NitroStudio may be used with the project during development and debugging.
